Honored as the first recipient of NASBLA's Seal of Safe Boating Practices
and placing second in the Recreation/Promotion category of the 2000 Outdoor
Writers Association of America film and video awards. Judgement on the Water - Composite version is a safety education film aimed specifically at the non-traditional boater-the fisherman, hunter, and weekend recreationalist-a traditionally high-risk group. According to the United States Coast Guard statistics, 34% of all boating fatalities involved fishermen and hunters, 44% occurred in boats 16' or less, ad 76% occurred on lakes and rivers.
Through the use of highly realistic boating accident reenactments, "Judgement on the Water" points out the hazards of not wearing a personal flotation device (PFD), as well as the dangers of alcohol, the sun, vibration and motion of the boat, cold water, and immersion hypothermia.
